Senior Energy Engineer/Project Mechanical Engineer
Nathan comes to Rushing after working at Stantec Consulting as a mechanical designer and sustainable design analyst. At Rushing, Nathan analyzes, recommends, and designs energy-saving and sustainable design techniques during all stages of the integrated design process. He has experience in building modeling, mechanical and plumbing system design, and energy code consulting. Nathan's modeling experience includes thermal analysis, natural ventilation studies, and solar studies. He is comfortable communicating directly to clients and project owners in both formal (technical briefs, reports, presentations) and informal settings (face to face discussions, design charettes) Nathan also has experience as both submitting LEED projects for certification and as a LEED reviewer on behalf of the United States Green Building Council.
During his mechanical engineering education at the University of Washington, Nathan focused his studies on renewable energy technology and energy efficiency, and has continued to expand his sustainable design knowledge ever since by becoming an active member and leader within the green-building community. Nathan is enthusiastic about providing clients with practical and effective whole-building sustainable design solutions.
