The best systems are engineered with the construction process in mind.
Mechanical systems are tangible, substantial components of every building; understanding how the parts and pieces come together in the field is critical. Rushing engineers have years of direct construction experience. We understand how pipe fitters, sheet metal workers, controls specialists, and others physically craft their work, and we design to those realities.

Contract Review/Development
Good design requires analysis of the best procurement and delivery methods. Rushing engineers assist teams in exploring options for Guaranteed Maximum Price, Lump Sum, Shared Savings, and Negotiated Lump Sum approaches. We also can develop and then review each contract for completeness and appropriate referencing to the initial proposal.
RFP Development/Contractor Selection
Rushing engineers create Requests for Proposals to mechanical contractors for Design/Build, Design/Assist, or Design Bid projects. We evaluate proposals for compliance to the RFP and create a detailed matrix of bids, fees, burdens, and labor rates to best evaluate the responses.
Contractor Change Order Review
Because we’ve created them ourselves, we’re uniquely qualified to review accuracy of subcontractors’ change orders for contract compliance and cost accuracy. Our services can include not only the review and identification of comments, but the communication and collaboration with your contractor to resolution.
Construction Oversight
Field inspections can save time and money during commissioning and warranty. Rushing engineers bring active construction experience to the field, inspecting physical work, recording findings, and correcting discrepancies to completion.
