Minimizing the use of natural resources is essential for every project.
Rushing principals have pioneered sustainability approaches and solutions. Core to our practice is energy modeling early in design, creating a foundation for team analysis of specific design concepts as well as the modeling required for code compliance and LEED energy optimization points. With strong working relationships with utility officials, our work includes identifying and harvesting utility incentives which can shape a project’s direction early in the design process. Rushing also offers the management and leadership required for formal LEED certifications.

Energy Analysis and Studies
Energy analysis—starting at the earliest design stages—is critical for sophisticated system design integration. We model system energy use to help the Owner understand energy usage for their project, to assist teams in achieving LEED® E&A points, and for Washington State Energy Code RS-29 compliance.
LEED® Strategy
Rushing engineers are LEED® accredited and proven in multiple gold and silver certifications. Our focus is to meet the Owner’s certification goals with appropriate, affordable, and achievable points. With our early focus towards cost and constructability, we collaborate with the team to determine the best, and practical, strategy for your project.
LEED® Management
Rushing can be your LEED® Certification Project Manager by leading the design and construction team’s LEED® efforts as the project evolves and is constructed. We provide project management, scheduling, and cost control during design and construction.
Incentive Procurement
Incentive procurement at Rushing is much more than obtaining energy rebates: it is strategizing and implementing collaborative relationships with the variety of utility providers for your building, generating alternative approaches, managing the complexities and overlap of multiple utilities and their programs, and harvesting maximum program dollars.
